With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.
Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.
Introducing the Solar Powered PRG270 which incorporates Casio's new Triple Sensor Version 3 engine. Advanced CASIO original technology has allowed for a 95% smaller direction sensor and 90% reduction in sensor power consumption compared to previous models. Design features include a case designed for outdoor gear performance. Large side buttons and one-press access to digital compass, barometric pressure and altitude, and temperature readings keep important information at your fingertips. Everything about this model is designed and engineered to make them essential pieces of outdoor gear.
Casio has dramatically improved the technology in the famous Pro Trek collection of Triple Sensor watches with the new Version 3 "engine. " As a reminder to the handful of people not yet familiar with Casio's popular collection of activity-timepieces, Triple Sensor technology imbues the highly-sophisticated Japanese Quartz movements in Pro Trek collection models with an altimeter, barometer, and compass (often known as "ABC"). They also happen to include a thermometer and a range of other features Casio fans have come to expect in all Pro Trek collection timepieces.
The new sensors in this model delivers better accuracy and energy efficiency. This model can measure Altitude in 1m increments (previously 5m) and display compass readings with 60-seconds of continuous measurement (previously 20 seconds). In addition to the altimeter and digital compass, the watch's Barometer, incorporates a unique Barometric Pressure Tendency Alarm that alerts the wearer to sudden changes in pressure readings.
Use the PRO TREK's altimeter to help gauge the time you'll need to reach the summit! The altimeter checks and displays the altitude every one second for three minutes then every five seconds or two minutes based on user intervals. The graphing function positions you with respect to your target altitude. You can manually record up to 30 sets of data with each record displaying the altitude, month, date and time. The measuring range is from -700 to 10,000 meters (-2,300 to 32,800 ft. ).
Born in 1994, the founder of the Triple Sensor line used battery power to take direction, barometric pressure / temperature and altitude measurements.
Predict changing weather patterns using the PRO TREK's barometer. It takes readings every two hours and stores them automatically. It graphically displays the barometric pressure for the past 42 hours. The display ranges from 260 to 1, 100 hPa/mb (7.65 to 32.45 inHg) with changeovers from hPa to inHg. Additionally this watch has a unique Barometric Pressure Tendency Alarm that alerts the wearer to sudden changes in pressure readings.
CASIO's original Tough Solar rechargeable solar power system generated the energy needed to power sensor measurements.
During measurement, the watch displays an angle value, a direction indicator, and four direction indicators, which change dynamically when the watch is moved. After measurement is complete, these measurements are frozen in accordance with the last measurement. Additionally the compass can display readings with 60-seconds of continuous measurements.
High-precision 1m altitude readings; up to 10 times faster high-speed processing; 95% direction sensor downsizing; and a 90% reduction in power consumption. These rapid advances have brought PRO TREK’s next-generation enhanced-performance Triple Sensor into being.
